Got some work in on the eddnapp "How's This Work" project. Moved the fetch system resource metrics to a Promise.all for faster updates. Cleaned up the graph a bit and added the auto-update function.
Major overhauls to the caching web socket server for this project. When I prototyped this, I used a lot of literals. Now optimizing all of that. Also fitting in Promise.all where needed to parallelize the fetchStore process.
Back to my project of learning, teaching, and those cool things.
Today I will convert all visuals to be processed server-side so the client only has to plug in the prepared arrays. And add the auto update to all visuals.
And now auto-update is working, it didn't take long. Also has an array of common colors, so updates don't make a discorama of colors. Check it out here:
Just pulled down the latest changes. Remember, this is a work in progress, so some things break while other things start working. It's all part of the fun.
I decided to make this live on the web. Though the app itself runs with NodeJS, express, and websockets I set up an Nginx reverse proxy to handle https. The data is live, and the site will update as I push updates to Git Hub.
Currently creating a design for snippets sharing application. I am currently done with the home screens and login screens. Both with light and dark modes. Is it ok? Please share your thoughts so I know what to do. #buildinpublic#design#share#snippets #…lnkd.in/eZVyAWBA
