Playing with #RDS ain't cheap, but the chart is nice :-)

@CloudPouch Still work in progress, I've added support for #RDS cluster databases. Still need to work on Aurora serverless, though.

Tell me what you think 😃

Last evening was productive. I added 'CPU Utilization data' & 'Monthly estimated cost' of a DB instance.

DB connections, CPU & RAM will be used for creating recommendations.

Also, RDS pricing is C-R-A-Z-Y! So many options, extracting it was the hardest so far.

Yesterday, I managed to finish with the following functionality for #RDS #costOptimization in @CloudPouch:
- CPU Utilization stats
- DB Connections stats
- Simple recommendations regarding DB instances

#awsCommunity & #awsCommunityBuilders if you know of any advanced tutorials on #RDS cost optimization, please let me know

Yesterday, I created this list of #RDS DB instances. Today I plan to get CloudWatch metrics to determine which of those are not used at all (no active connections), and which are over-provisioned - this is much harder to implement. #buildInPublic #aws
Today, I started working on 𝘼𝙒𝙎 𝙍𝘿𝙎 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 functionality in @CloudPouch app.

#buildInPublic - tell me what would you like to have?
How this could help you tame RDS costs.

You can have a real impact on the end result 😃
I'm starting to work on new 𝙍𝘿𝙎 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 in @CloudPouch application.

Please tell me:
❓What would you like to see in such insights?
❓What kind of cost recommendations would be useful for you?
❓What have you done before to optimize RDS costs?

What’s "VPN-Usage-Hours:ipsec.1" usage type in @awscloud VPC service? @jeffbarr

I'm working on adding explanations to Usage Types in my @CloudPouch application to make AWS costs easier to understand.

And that particular one is missing in the docs.

Half a year ago, I started working on @CloudPouch. This video is a milestone, showing what I was able to achieve over that time.

What do you think?

#buildinpublic #AWSCommunity
CloudPouch - control and optimize your #AWS billing with an intuitive desktop application.

Easier to use than AWS CostExplorer, supports multiple AWS accounts via CLI profiles and #SSO.

Can find waste and misconfigured resources in your AWS accounts.

#FinOps #costOptimization
I program in #JavaScript for several years now, but I'm still shocked how much a single array reducer can achieve 🤯

new functionality coming to @CloudPouch soon 😃

#buildinpublic
Taking the blue pill. It takes a lot of time time. And definitely is not as relaxing as programming.

I hope I'll be able to share it with you in March.

🚀 #ProductHunt Launch of CloudPouch: See. Understand. Reduce AWS costs.

Come and share some love ❤️

Work in progress: Analyzing your AWS account to find NAT Gateways which are unused #buildInPublic

What do you think? #finOps twitter.com/pzubkiewicz/st…
I'm starting to work on automatic detection of abandoned NAT Gateways (attached to empty VPCs), that incur costs on your AWS accounts.

This will be included in the next release of @CloudPouch desktop application.

My technical heart 💙 belongs to #serverless but when building CloudPouch I focus on classic architecture as for most organizations Lambda costs are inconsequential.

VMs and EC2 Other are top cost categories for almost all AWS users

On what your money is spent?

Woke up with lots of energy to work on my startup today 😅
