Yesterday, I managed to finish with the following functionality for #RDS#costOptimization in @CloudPouch: - CPU Utilization stats - DB Connections stats - Simple recommendations regarding DB instances
Yesterday, I created this list of #RDS DB instances. Today I plan to get CloudWatch metrics to determine which of those are not used at all (no active connections), and which are over-provisioned - this is much harder to implement. #buildInPublic#aws
I'm starting to work on new 𝙍𝘿𝙎 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 in @CloudPouch application.
Please tell me: ❓What would you like to see in such insights? ❓What kind of cost recommendations would be useful for you? ❓What have you done before to optimize RDS costs?
My technical heart 💙 belongs to #serverless but when building CloudPouch I focus on classic architecture as for most organizations Lambda costs are inconsequential.
VMs and EC2 Other are top cost categories for almost all AWS users
