Since Reddit is effectively dead to me, I decided to try and create a similar experience in my discord using an RSS bot

Looks like the popular ones don’t support forum channels, so I’ll be trying to extend my own bot to post news into a forum for discussion

I started making a #golang lib to export Notion pages directly to Markdown. Two goals:

1. Streamline my writing process for the PlanetScale docs and blog.
2. Automated export of my entire workspace into something Obsidian can understand.

Spent most of the day reviewing docs for a massive upcoming change, BUT I was able to do a little work on my new demo app Orbytal.inc

Almost done with the functionality to edit profiles. Logged-in users will have universal access to the edit button
Been a bit quiet here this week based on work load, but also put some time into my little bio-link service over the weekend.

Quick update here #buildinpublic
OK last update for the day. I got a PlanetScale DB created and was able to hook it up to my app with Drizzle.

Smooth sailing so far 🔥 #buildinpublic
Decided to kick off the project a bit early. Today I registered the domain orbytal.ink, created a Vercel account, created a Next project, and deployed it to Vercel.

Ok I'm doing this! Next week I'll be planning and building a bio link style service using @nextjs, @vercel, @DrizzleOrm, and @PlanetScale

My daily threads I post will instead be a recap of my progress building this thing!

Now what should it be called? 🤔 #buildinpublic
Spent some time this evening building brianmm.dev, my own little site to replace those link list sites but customized to me.

Thinking about building this as an open source demo for PlanetScale and make it usable for everyone.

Would that be interesting? 🤔
I asked, and the people have spoken! As a full stack developer, I use alot of services to build my projects. Here is a rundown of everything I use and how I use it to build stuff

So my question is two fold:

1. What other side effects should I expect with strict mode off
2. For the React pros - how would you improve this? Specifically around initializing an app like this.

SUPER excited to relaunch Forge this week. After manually combing through the entire app, I've got a master list of little things I need to fix, but I should be able to finish up tonight 🤩

Getting ever closer to re-launching @guardianforge

Spent a few hours this weekend redesigning merging the "app" and "main" UIs back into one (splitting them was a mistake) and updating the theme. Got a few more bugs to fix & g2g!

Got #tailwindcss setup for @guardianforge and started redesigning the UI to better match the asthetic of Destiny 2

Over the next week or so I'll be slowly pulling bootstrap out and fixing little UI bugs as I go

Figured out how to join types in Gatsby! Here's the code to create a relationship between my posts and series collections from @NotionHQ 🎉

I swear Im gonna write ALL this work up in a series of posts, its been real fun #buildinpublic
Finished moving all my content to Notion 🎉

Gonna manually check each page and fix things but should be able to launch tomorrow! #buildinpublic
Wrote a tool to export my WordPress content into Markdown. Gonna make it a bit easier to migrate my content over and track it as I go 🔥 #buildinpublic #golang

Currently rebuilding my website to use @NotionHQ as the content source. I plan to open source all the tooling once I’m done although my site is already open github.com/bmorrisondev/b…
SUPER happy with how the migration to @NotionHQ as my CMS is coming along!

Expect a writeup once this whole things is done, link to the branch is in the 🧵 😄 #buildinpublic
Working on integrating my @GatsbyJS blog to use @NotionHQ as the CMS. Coming along well so far! #buildinpublic
Spent an hour and built a nifty little automation for myself. @NotionHQ + API + JavaScript + @Netlify + Github Actions =
