Building a website using @bubble and @storyblok

Is it possible to build a website with No-Code using a headless CMS?

I tried to answer that question for myself and set out to build an MVP using @bubble and @storyblok.

Finally had time to write a blog post documenting how I did it. #buildinpublic

Also, this is still a NoCode project, but the final task is to read the rich-text formatting from Storyblok and turn it into HTML in Bubble.

And that will turn this project into a low-code project.

Also, 4 weeks was a bit aggressive, more like 3 months.. :)

Until now, blog post content only loaded when the page was accessed via blog home.

A user can browse to a single blog page from wherever; the slug is read from the URL, and the blog posts load.

#BuildInPublic
Coming from building websites with WordPress/Elementor embarking on my first website project with @bubble is a completely different game.

It's a more technical task as it's a #Nocode app builder, not a design tool. Getting a page responsive requires more work. #BuildinPublic
I quickly realized that writing a Bubble plugin is nothing to get done in a day.

Instead, I shifted tasks and started working on the first blog post documenting the project and made updates to the task list.

Goal of the day... Start building my first plugin for Bubble that converts Markdown to HTML.

The @bubble community is very supportive - I thought I'd hit a roadblock.

After spending a few more hours on this problem, my preferred solution would be to edit content in Storyblok using Markdown.

BUT Bubble does not support Markdown, instead, it understands BBCode (not used that in 10yrs?).

Update on my #BuildInPublic summer fun project. (Building a personal website using Bubble and Storyblok).

I can now show the basic formatting of my content stored in Storyblok on my Bubble website.

Thanks to @bubble for the awesome support to get this working.
@bubble @storyblok I am stuck!

Not sure how to solve this - so I posted the question on Bubble forum.

"Show rich text format from Json/API in Bubble element"

I am not even sure if this is the right question to ask, but let's see, ...

@bubble @storyblok Update after 30mins:

I found a way to show the blog post content from Storyblok in my Bubble app. But all formatting is lost.

Maybe this is the answer but I am unsure if this is possible to do within Bubble: storyblok.com/docs/richtext-…

@bubble @storyblok Currently facing 2 issues, I need to solve:
- How to display the actual content from a Storyblok story in a Bubble
- Need a way to read URL slug in Bubble on a blog single template.

The Bubble community has been helpful. Posted 2 times and got help within hours

Today I gave this project a very obvious name: BubbleBlok.

And lucky me found two emojis perfect for representing this name.

I am inches away from calling this my first #BuildInPublic project.

How can you create a personal website/blog connected to a headless CMS with #NoCode?

Using @Bubble + @storyblok. My prototype is up (Blog overview + blog detail, Bubble connected to Storyblok API). twitter.com/rolfvanroot/st…
✅ Done

Tried something new today. How can you build a web frontend for a @storyblok CMS without writing code?

Using @bubble API connector.

Took some time, but managed to show a list of blog post titles/intros on a preview site from my Storyblok account.
Here's a newsletter idea that I would like to work on but lack time.

"All Things Page-Builder" - Your weekly update on what's going on in the world of NoCode website page builders.

Target audience: creators, builders #BuildInPublic community ...

This would be an interesting project to work on right now for a NoCode nerd with @bubble: Create a Twitter clone.

On the side build a Twitter following by utilizing the #BuildInPublic community.
Very happy that my newsletter subscriber growth is up up up in March.

Usually, I get 30 subs per month.
In March: 103.

In large part driven by a lead magnet. But to be able to create that lead magnet I first had to create 60 issues of my newsletter.
