Overall I'm very excited about the hopefully much better new user experience and if it might increase the install to trial ratio. If I manage to reduce churn aswell with some requested features and sanding some rough edges, this'll be a great update for BarTab!
So hard to get valueable feedback (or any feedback at all) from actual or potential customers. I have an easy to reach in app form and reach out to all cancelled trials and subscribers. Still I’ve had very few interactions with users, especially cancelled ones.
Results so far (42 days in) are as the image shows. I’m a little surprised but it’s barely 500 page views total so not statistically significant to say the least. A noticeable difference nonetheless.
Pretty happy with the new onboarding experience for BarTab! Moved to using Anchors and anchorPreferences so now it works perfectly regardless of orientation and screen size! 😁
I guess I should add an 'I already know' button to disable the onboarding somewhere 🤔
Realised the UI for empty menus and customer lists in BarTab might not be clear. So I've added some onboarding! Hope this makes it easier for new users to get going.
What’s your stance on asking about a customer’s satisfaction before prompting for an App Store rating/review? (ie. asking if they like the app, then only asking for rating/review if they say yes, otherwise show a feedback form)
I was really hyped after growing my customer base by 100% and hoping for some nice results in my A/B testing, but with traffic so slow the results so far aren't credible enough.
Still bewildered by this pattern in the impressions for BarTab… 🤔 this goes all the way back to June.
At least now that I’m aware I know when to expect increased traffic! T-minus 3~ days ’til next boost, then maybe some meaningful A/B test results after that?
A/B test submitted to App Review! I'm no designer but I'm quite pleased with the result and think it's a clear improvement. Let's hope it translates to a better conversion rate!
Really excited to try out my new App Store screenshots. I think they’ll give a more professional impression and inspire enough trust to get more downloads. 🤞
Do you ever A/B test your App Store product page? If yes, how often?
Took notes from the feedback I got and made some changes!
- Lighter background for better contrast - Lower case text for a softer feel - Updated device bezels - Bigger screens to show content - Serious mock data - More interesting main screenshot
Trying to make my App Store screenshots a little more enticing. Need that conversion rate to go 🚀! Hit me with your very honest critiques please, no pulling punches!

Considering the pros and cons of rebuilding my landing page and the few complimentary web services with @nextjs, hosted on @vercel. I’d also move the @Firebase layer (database and authentication) to the server and access them through an API. (1/3)
