I put Text2SQL/.AI behind a paywall 3 months ago, and it made ~$1K/month despite being busy with my uni, so I didn't even touch it since then. I recommend everyone the degraded "just a UI on OpenAI API" method as a first project. This AI hype is crazy.
Why ProductHunt is full of garbage with many upvotes and with many comment about "how fantastic product, that's exactly what I want"? As a newbie indie dev that place feels cringe 😄
I had a new startup idea around ChatGPT. "Ohh, how unique!" you might think, but it actually feels like nothing similar on the market yet. I built a quick pre-mvp, not that good, but it technically works somewhat...
Later I will add login and payment, but after that, I will move on to other projects as I am not that enthusiastic anymore. Btw, playing with OpenAI's API was a great first project!
Today's work on text2sql/.ai: - Added SQL explanation - Added SQL types/dialects - Added output ratings - Added in-app feedback form - Added new icons to the UI (Booom!)
The first week of my first Micro-SaaS in numbers: - 557 Visitors - 117 Actual users - 441 SQL generations Not bad, not good? 😅 #buildinpublic#indiehackers
