Worked last week on the MVP for smart decision making.
Got initial feedback, preparing to send it out to get more feedback.

When you want to release but the cloud build keeps failing since 18 hours

Some things I learned that make a customer buy or abandon a product,
after working nearly a decade in B2B SaaS. πŸ’΅

Added a production 'smoke test' inside my Docker container with curl.
If an important service inside the container is not running, it crashes the container on startup
and thereby prevents the cloud environment from switching to the new release.

There's nothing more annoying than seeing someone else succeeding with the idea you dropped years before.

Stick to your vision and don't let anyone talk you out of it.

80% of all software features are never used or very rarely.

You can more or less safely drop 2 of 3 killer feature ideas that you have.

This week.

Spoke with pot. customers, realized I can showcase my app much simpler.

It doesn’t need to help people with 3 things, 1 is enough.

Also did some market research for a new app #excited #mvpcoming

doing things in a startup paradoxon

you always realize you started doing something too late, at the same time you know, its never too late to start doing it

Me as a 16 year old: the fuck is a database? just going to add a static variable per new client

- Makes first 20€ after 1 week

At 29 years: I need a geo-redundant write-read shardable database cluster

- Needs 2 months to launch a hello world page

Started the day by clearly writing down persona hypotheses
and problem hypotheses, and whether it needs validation.

Takes its time, but creates such a strong focus on a) who to cold message and b) what to write.

Not sure how to feel about email collection forms saying: "we don't spam".

Imagine you sit down in a brand-new restaurant and the waiter tells you: "just so you know, we don't spit in your food"

Many people cannot quickly & confidently decide what to do and 'what to drop'. What helps is to write down the own vision and the next most important goal. Do it regularly, and you will be a person that makes consistent decisions like a pro.

This week's todos:
- Adding a simple FAQ to my landing page to address the most important 'objections' I personally heard from potential customers.

- Send out a mail to early subscribers.
I want to have the FAQ before that, since I have no personal contact.

That moment when a big competitor signs up to your SaaS. #HelloThere

#buildinpublic
Since I started doing continuous deployment, I got so used to doing 'nothing' to release that I sometimes forget to initiate/approve the release.

#buildinpublic
Relaunched the landing page this week.
Didn't make it to include my cutomers testimonials,
so I need to make adjustments next week again.

- Changed the onboarding so that people can test again without signup
- Kept the landing page on my no code stack

In between all the intense coding: don't forget to treat yourself. Get yourself the best coffee, your favorite tea or whatever makes you happy β˜•οΈ

Trying to validate a potential customers willingness to pay?

Don't ask what solution your customer wants.
Ask your customer to rank his pain points in order.
Then validate for the 1-2 top pain points.
