If you are not building a startup, build an audience online.

If you are building a startup, build an audience online twice as hard!

I have been using the below tech stacks

After more than a week away from coding because of a crazy work schedule, I managed to get back to my app today. Addressed a bug with publishing the thread after login and managed to setup Continuous Integration for the @Azure app #100DaysOfCode #buildinpublic
Day 136-137 - Keyword Research

Learned that Keyword Research can help predict ROI

E.g.

1. "design templates" is not as common a search term as I thought.

2. "photoshop plugins" is more popular than "lightroom plugins"

3. "background removal" is popular

Do venture-backed companies share their numbers in public as comfortably as other indiehackers?

If not, why?

@yehoshzl got me thinking about it this morning
My SaaS marketing plan is simple

In a few weeks from now,

I'm going to open 10 slots for beta users to use my SaaS for FREE

Will try the power of communities first

Will cold outreach on LinkedIn (using my SaaS LOL)

All I need is 10 beta users to start PMF

Let go.
Let be.
Wait.
Pay attention.
Receive.
Be grateful.
Befriend.
Become.
Believe.

1 benefit to #buildinpublic that I wasn't aware of before starting:
My perceived sense of risk for "making the wrong move" is lower, because there's the implicit understanding between me and my audience that I'm figuring things out as I go. So I'm more open to trying things out.
Kids are amazing! When you are so used to working with adults, which is fine obviously, then you work with kids it reminds you how fast they think, how honest they are, and how hard working and conscious they are about the world. Let me explain...

I need to follow more people on Twitter.

Who are some #buildinpublic people you recommend?
Dear web designer,
make the content simple,
for the customer, and the developer.

I've been chatting with marketers to understand how they use podcasts as a marketing channel.

I'm starting to think I'm on the wrong path:

Things you don't need to make money online:

- certification
- college degree
- past experience

What you do need:

- Discipline
- Consistency
- Commitment to never quit

Anyone can do it with the right mindset.

This feels wrong.

But I'm going to share my new project before it's done.

Isn't that what #buildinpublic is all about?

I'm more excited about this than anything I've done before. It's the culmination of 6 YEARS working with early-stage founders to help validate product ideas.
Being a solo dev can be incredibly isolating without anyone to bounce ideas off or pull me out of rabbit holes!

My current strategy is a Paper Boss: clearly defined + prioritised daily tasks for the next month, and accountability from progress tracking + #BuildInPublic tweets.
