One of the beautiful things about working with VMs is that if the system doesn't come out perfect, it is super easy to kill it and start over fresh!

What I learned tonight:

- @MySQL won't install w/ 512MB RAM
- CPU & RAM up #VM cost, storage far less
- I ❤️ curl icanhazip.com
- An 8 min. VM rebuild can be faster than troubleshooting what you screwed up
- Bookstack's #API looks exciting

Decided to put my @CANARIE_Inc DAIR scripts up on @github for others to use. You can find them at github.com/TephlonDude/da…

Feel free to help yourself!

@harshil1712 @traefik @GCPcloud This is one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions. You need to find your comfort level based on:

- physical infrastructure
- backup configuration
- snapshot setup
- uptime requirements
- cost/budget
- ease of management
- points of failure

#setup #buildinpublic #VM
@harshil1712 @traefik @GCPcloud Not only is it an acceptable approach, but there are a number of #OpenSource projects that use this model as the basis for their framework:

- @cap_rover
- @SelfhostedPro's Yacht
- @NemchikEric of GhostWriters' DockSTARTer
- @SandstormIO
