Day 32 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

⚒️ After some discussions and thoughts decided to get back to building MVP.

✍🏼 I'm, also, about to run my own industry blog (software engineering), so gonna test #Feedster to get some real output done! 🦾
Day 31 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

How about:
1. Manually curate 100 sources of #SoftwareEngineering news
2. Give creators in engineering a tool to filter/summarize these feeds on the fly accordingly to their current projects.

Still niching/tinkering with ideas.
Day 30 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

News is associated with distractions, but what if you can ask your newsfeed to show only this content, that actually moves you towards your goals?

Me playing the role of product manager.
Day 29 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Got back on track after a few days of downtime.
My goals are the same - reach out to creators and dig into their pain points.

The current idea to validate: "Goals-driven news reading" - Just tell your reader what are you looking for.
Day 28 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

During the last months, I learned a lot, and this is the time to clean up the roadmap.

We decided to shut down all development until we find a validation, or decide to move on with another idea.
Day 27 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Got the first call with the newsletter publisher. @arvindhsundar, thank you for such an insightful one!

I got impressed by how interesting the creators are.
Not only by their workflows but as people.

How do you choose your TA to build for?
Day 26 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

#indiehackers!
Imagine you're validating your B2B product.

On your Landing Page offer's block would you rather place:
- Email waitlist
- Calendly call booking
- Buy button
Day 25 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

1/4 of the challenge is passed. What have I done?

🫂 Joined #IndieMasterminds
✍🏼 Narrowed niche down to "creators who read newsletters"
🎙️ Started validation campaign
➕ Got 70 new followers
Day 24 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Discovery funnel right now:
💬 Engaging: 10
🤝 DMing: 2
❓ Asking feedback: 2
⌛ Waiting for feedback: 1

The goal of the week is to move 10 from Engaging to Waiting for feedback
Day 23 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

The 3 levels of customer interview and what it requires:

❓ The problem:
The 3 main questions about customer workflows (maybe an LP as well).

📦 The solution:
A prototype to guide through.

🎁 The product:
An MVP to onboard.
Day 22 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

🧪Proceeing with seeking my TA
-> Found plenty of guys, who are running newsletters on @SubstackInc.

There is lots of helpful stuff there, I basically can't stop reading instead of approaching people who write it 😄
Day 22 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

With help of #IndieMasterminds, I built a 4 steps validation framework to make warmer our cold outreach:

1. Follow the creator (on Twitter)
2. Engage with his/her daily updates
3. Approach in DM
4. Ask to have an interview
Day 21 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Today I'd like to make an announcement:

📢📢📢
#indiehackers #creators If you read and write newsletters, I'd love to have a chat with you!

We believe that #Feedster can significantly help create, but real knowledge comes only from you 🙂
Day 20 / #100daysof #buildinpublic back in a game
These are #Feedster weekly goals:

1. 🎙️Get on an interview with 5 creators about their workflows
2. 📰Roll out the new polished LP
3. 🐂Migrate newsfeed logic to #BullMQ

Will update the status on Wed and Fri 😎
Day 19 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Once I got my TA, I need to reach out. Today I spent plenty of time researching where I can find:

- Bloggers/writers in #SoftwareEngineering
- Who has 1k-10k of audience
- Who is monetizing or willing to monetize their blogs

Any ideas?
Day 18 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

📰->✍️
Formed the main workflow of the #Feedster:

🔎 AI curation is to reduce the whole inbox following the creator's goals
⬆️ Exporting key points to PKM aims to help create faster and right from the interesting.
Day 17 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

🦾That was a magnificent mastermind with Indie-Masterminds. Insights about TA:

1. #Feedster is for developers who become professional content creators.
2. These guys use newsletters to stay tuned
3. These guys make money from their blogs
Day 16 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

🖼️Our new strategy is to develop a Figma prototype first.
⚒️We will elaborate on UI only after the validation of the prototype and the workflow behind it.
🏗️However, we still need to build a robust newsfeed backend
Day 15 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

⚙️Reworking a tech behind our newsfeed, just planned the architecture (now using #BullMQ)
🧪Just found @LeaveMeAloneApp as a good competitor, and will be researching them
🧠Going to brainstorm the workflow to implement in the Figma prototype
Day 15 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

We got the scope to get done the #Feedster private beta release:
- Landing page with a waitlist
- Figma prototype based on TA workflow insights
- App itself with only core functions
- Stripe account to make it possible to charge
Day 14 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Slowly getting back on track, checking other curation tools.
Have you heard/tried @socialpilot_co? How is it in terms of content curation?
I know they're barely a competitor for us since they work in SM, but interesting how they do curation.
Day 13 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

2 days were missed while traveling and working hard on @GitHubCopilot presentation.

However, did a short research on #curationtools and validated the idea with competitors. Will roll out the full list of them soon🫡
Day 12 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Today - b2b competitors research. Apart from Feedly, I found:
- @Inoreader
- @feederco
- @TLDRThis makes summarization
- @_feedspot looks interesting but onboarding... 😖

In the next few weeks will try them out and share my thoughts
Day 11 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

-> Jumped on #indiemasterminds program (thank you @ayushtweetshere and guys for warm onboarding!)
-> The toughest and vague goal is to establish a strong vision for my TA and start working with the pain points 🎯

SO still keep working 🦾
Day 10 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Market research updates:
Switched to b2b opportunity, looking for curation tools that business use. @feedly is the most interesting one (+they dropped the price), will watch them closely 🔎
Day 9 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Leveraging my learning:
- Got a fantastic mentoring session with @startupstudioco, thank you Saif for your insights!
- Got into the Indie Masterminds program. Excited to have a lot of communication there (I did it, @ayushtweetshere! 😀🚀)
Day 8 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Today I brought a sneak peek of our new landing design, and, spoiler - it's awesome. In a while, we're going to elaborate on this and make it public instead of our current pure Notion-based one
Day 7 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Today I niched down my value proposition.

I'm going to share about self-development and productivity for software developers.

Also, finally came up with the initial content plan (thank you @DanKulkov for your plan generator! 🚀)
Day 6 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Mostly was exploring communities of writers and copywriters.

This is a whole new world, and I have concerns about diving deep into it before I even validate that writers are actually willing to improve their inboxes.
Day 5 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

After some planning - I got the due dates of #Feedster development to share:
- On May 1st we're launching the private beta and waitlist
- On July 1st we're launching the public MVP
Remember the tweet 😁
Day 4 / #100daysof #buildinpublic

Today I got that not only chief developers, managers, and entrepreneurs can have an inbox overflow.
I'm willing to validate the idea of #Feedster also with:
- Writers
- Product Managers

Any idea who else receives more that he/she can process?
Day 3 / #100daysof #buildinpublic
Learning and researching a lot! Last month I'm consistent in speaking with potential customers, but I still have much to learn.

Thank you @shwetank for the mentoring session (it was amazing!)
Thank you @robfitz for the book! (you know which😄)
Day 2 / #100daysof #buildinpublic
Was discussing LP tweaks with our designer, and got that all app landing look the same, is there a template I don't know about??
Day 1 / #100daysof #buildinpublic
We got a landing prototype for #Feedster, what do you think?
And yes, we're going to put our UI instead of grey placehoders🙂
Alright, what is a basic feature #100daysof ... accounts usually have but I don't have here? Automatic reply of your #100daysofdata tweets! It's quite simple, but considering to #buildinpublic
