Today I'm starting @TheOdinProject to level up my dev skills

Will be sharing progress with #buildinpublic as I goπŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’»
I've been building furniture rather than #buildinpublic this weekend.

Now recharging before the week starts againπŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

How has your Sunday been?
People of #buildinpublic, what are you struggling with most at the moment?
Successful products solve critical problems for their users.

Don't create a solution in search of a problem.

#buildinpublic
Watch out for bias when talking with users.

Users will often tell you what they think you want to hear, rather than the truth.

@ThePeterMick Hey! I'm a Product Manager turned Engineer πŸ‘‹

I share insights on how to build great products with the #buildinpublic community.
Give yourself permission to take breaks, especially on the weekend.

You'll go into the new week with fresh motivation and perspective πŸ’ͺ🏻

#buildinpublic
When should you pivot?

The answer varies, but reduced motivation for a long period is a good indicator.

#buildinpublic
Competitors are a great way of validating your product.

Execute better than them, and you'll win in the long-term.

The purpose of an MVP is often misunderstood.

MVPs are for learning and experimentation, not for mass marketing or production.

Working on your startup all weekend? πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’»

Make sure to relax too. Your productivity will 10x when you come back to it.

I've been using a pomodoro timer recently, I found it difficult to work with previously but it's really working for me now.

What are your favourite productivity techniques?

Know any good UX people who are also content creators?

We've got a potential project for @SparkJamHQ coming up. Tag someone or introduce yourself! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

So to summarise what I learned:

β€’ DNS changes are a pain in the ass
β€’ Don't trust synthetic tests alone, always do your own manual tests
β€’ Sysadmin is a whole job, and I deeply admire those with the patience for it

More #buildinpublic stories soon πŸ‘€
@Murkrage This is the actual #buildinpublic content I wanted to see
In summary, stay tuned for another #buildinpublic day soon πŸ₯³
3. It's good #buildinpublic practice for more ambitious projects, and I need something fun to do today (it's a UK bank holiday).
Today I'm doing a #buildinpublic experiment. I'm going to build a Goodreads alternative in one day.

Why?
