Ideas for storytelling from @tsmentrepreneur. Here are the ones I like the best: - tests you've done & results (e.g. landing page test results) - giving your audience a voice (e.g. amplifying someone else) - #buildinpublic (e.g. stories from the trenches)
@GetTheAudience You should add "number of audiences deleted" to your #buildinpublic reports. Would be interesting to see the dynamics of people exploring.
2/6 Things that were accepted as truth in toxic culture:
- Never share. You lose advantage. - Everyone's out to get you. Don't trust anyone. - It's a zero-sum game. - Someone is to blame when things don't work.
7/8 Emotionally, it was so exciting to see my name tweeted by "GA" & "Mr MarTech". But I can't run a business on the thrills alone. It didn't result in conversions.
Thanks to "Amanda" and the subscribers I got. It allows me to be analytical instead of sad.
- The twitter algorithm is a black box, and just because someone has 1M followers, doesn't mean all followers will see a tweet. - Smaller knit communities trust each other's tweets and will take action at a higher rate - Individuals > brands
5/8 The new subscribers are surprising though - inversely proportional to the size of the following. "Amanda" resulted in 6x more subscribers to my newsletter than "Mr MarTech" and "GA" gave me 0!
(I know none of these are big numbers, as I am just starting out).
"GA" has over 1M followers, but resulted in only 2.2k impressions of the tweet. Almost as much as "Mr MarTech" & "Amanda", who had far fewer followers.
