Doing a lot of redesign in the app's UI (& UX) recently has made me realize how little I know about design & what details there are to consider that an inexperienced person (like me) may overlook. I'm learning though & it's exciting each time I improve sth.
1⃣ I’ve written a 5-pager marketing plan for the prelaunch phase of the startup, which covers the basics but also has room for improvement. Here is a summary of what I covered:
I started by doing keyword research using Moz and Google Trends.
The development of the app is started now & we set a soft deadline by October for launching the beta version. There's so much to be done. The first thing would be to write a marketing plan for the prelaunch phase & implement it. That's on my agenda for this week.
After thinking more in detail about the app, we have come to realize it has the potential to be generic. We are recategorizing it as a 'life reminder', a reminder for living a life with intention. It now includes mindfulness as one part of it.
We are having solid progress in our app project. The design is almost finalized, after many revisions and now we are working on the landing page and a video presentation of the app to next introduce it to our users.
I started learning about CUDA and parallel processing in Python. Only scratched the surface as I don't have much knowledge in that area & needed to go slowly.
Also continued prototyping in Figma, & got the basic functionalities ready.
So, recently I had the app project on hold because I was building a team. 2 people have joined me. One is a developer, & the other is mainly the project manager but like me, has a more fluid role in this.
In the middle of working with Sketch, I got confused & switched to Figma. Neither was easy enough to work intuitively with. I need to read some docs I guess. Which one do you recommend I go with?
I spent all day on my app & figured out how to set several random notifications. The only thing is, they run through a loop & only the last notification actually triggers. I cannot work anymore on it today, but I am eager to solve it.
I spent half of today fine-tuning a CNN model & I finally ran it without overfitting. In the second part of the day, I learned about Calendar, Date, & Date components in Swift. There's still a lot to learn, but I'm getting there.
Today I worked mostly on paper to think about the possible solutions for the timing of my app. It was hard & I think a genius solution is still out there waiting to be found. But, I progressed well enough to call it a day.
Worked on my app project today. Fixed a problem with segues that I figured out after a few hours of trying different things. But now I realize some part of the logic of the app is flawed and am trying to fix it efficiently.
I worked mostly on a python code today. As for the app project, I built the landing page, designed a rather minimal logo & wrote some copies. There's still a long way to go, though.
But it's only an MVP, & if my subpar coding skills can deliver the minimum functionality I want, until finding out whether there is a potential userbase, then all is good. What do you think? 2/2
I bought a host to create a landing page for my app. I’m struggling with customizing the theme as I don’t have prior experience with that. If someone has a good resource for Wordpress website customization (& design) to learn from, please share :)
