Don't let your excitement over a cool tool cloud your judgment: always start with lowest-effort initiatives without fancy tools, then graduate to higher-effort ones.
#buildinpublic

This was obvious to me when I started out but then I lost sight of this simple truth. So a reminder: it's important to share your failures in addition to wins. When you share failures and doubts is when you'll get the help and support you need from your audience

An observation in using no code to build Ops Hacks:
As the complexity of the business increases, the number of no code tools increases proportionately.
To stay on top of it all I drew a custom flowchart outlining process+tools+automations

Just had onboarding calls with founding members of Ops Hacks. Building a community from scratch is a journey fraught with self-doubt, so it was really, really, REALLY nice to hear that they find the community valuable already.
1 benefit to #buildinpublic that I wasn't aware of before starting:
My perceived sense of risk for "making the wrong move" is lower, because there's the implicit understanding between me and my audience that I'm figuring things out as I go. So I'm more open to trying things out
Sending out an email to apply to be a member of the opshacks.com community has so far been the most daunting task. So much doubt over whether people want this, whether I'll be able to create enough value to charge a fee, etc.

One thing that's quickly becoming very clear to me as I build opshacks.com and write website copy and emails: I suck at writing copy. Who are some copywriting experts I should be following on Twitter to level up my email / website copy game?

One big benefit of doing a cohort-based program like #mpnc3 is that people around you push you to constantly seek better solutions. Here's how @bentossell and @harishkotra inspired me to to find a JS script for creating a signup form with prefilled emails 🧵
After wrestling with @AdaloHQ trying to connect @airtable to it + knowing that @glideapps doesn't integrate with airtable... whichever no code tool connects airtable to a mobile frontend in an intuitive (read: nocode-friendly) way will win the space.

Given the importance of junction tables in @airtable, I just assumed that there must be an easy way to auto-populate every permutation in a many-to-many relationship. Turns out there isn't (or I'm not good at Googling), and you have to do it manually 🤯
Does anyone have access to @webflow's membership feature (in beta) already? Wondering whether it's worth waiting for or if I should just go for @memberstack or @outseta to build membership into opshacks.com

What I learned putting together a landing page for opshacks.com in 3 days using @webflow and @mailerlite 🧵

For all the @integromat pros out there - what's your best practice for creating scenarios when you don't know the full array of possible errors? I've been doing a lot of manual QA, but wonder what everyone else is doing.

What do folks use for their writing editor software when publishing posts on @webflow? The native editor is okay but looking for something that is cleaner and easier to use, and works nicely with Webflow + bonus points for no code integration

Much ❤️ for the folks behind @TallyForms. Such an awesome, intuitive product with so many features even at the Free tier. After integrating it with @airtable I'm off to embed the form in my @webflow site for opshacks.com 🏃💨

Aggregating all notifications into Slack is an underappreciated life hack. I'm building all opshacks.com notifications into a private, me-only channel and it provides one source of truth for things I should care about.

Moving my Substack newsletter for the opshacks.com community to either @MailerLite or @ConvertKit. Looking for automation capabilities with @integromat. Thinking @MailerLite because its free version is feature-rich. Anyone with exp w/ both?

Wondering if there's an easy way to hack together a #nocode MVP for a "refer a friend to jump ahead" queue system, like @superhuman or @robinhoodapp 🧵
Trying to build a refer-to-get-ahead waitlist for opshacks.com landing page. Does anyone have a more Webflow-friendly alternative to @prefinery? Styling in Refinery and making the CSS play nice with Webflow is a nightmare for a non-tech

#buildinpublic Day 1:
Landing page for Ops Hacks - a community of early stage startup operators. Building what I would've loved to have in my previous stint as a COO at an early stage YC co. If you want to meet other ops folks: sign up @ opshacks.com
