Fastest pivot of all time: 2.5 hours in and I decided to build for a different audience: academics. Why? I *know* academics really well and they have very uniform needs, whereas writers have a diverse set of needs. Same idea, different audience. 97.5 hrs to go.

I spent the first hour or so reading the @remaketheweb docs and getting everything set up. I started with their resume template since that has most of the functionality I'll need. This tech is nifty. Just restyled the app page a bit. 98 hrs to go #buildinpublic #builtin100hours
Inspired.so was officially acquired. It was 48 days from the day I started building it to the day I closed the deal.

Stats:
Time spent: ~60 hours
$ spent: ~$50
Revenue: $0
Users: ~10
Tech: @bubble, #gpt3
Price: $4K (MicroAcquire)
Overall a success.

I've *almost* made my first app sale! Read all about it (plus my last 10 days towards 10 years) here:

My new WaaS is well underway. I've been putting off the hard part (for me) which is creating website templates. Design has never been my strong suit, but the tools out there today, like @ThemeFuse make it possible for non designers like me to make decent stuff.

I just posted inspired.so for sale on a couple startup marketplaces. My goal with this was always to complete a project and then let it go to someone who can grow it. In fact, that's my general goal with projects from now on. Build fast, sell fast.

The curse of the email newsletter: the more you send a newsletter the more churn you get. The challenge is having more sign ups than unsubscribes per week.

Honestly, our last Ship in 30 cohort was the only reason I got Inspired.so out into the world. Without that dedicated one hour a day, I wouldn't have made time to work on it.

Shipped today: a very simple and non-intrusive welcome email for Inspired. I just let people know how many free runs they have, and to reply back with thoughts after taking it for a spin. This also gives people are way to contact me if they have issues.

Crossed 10 real (free) users on Inspired. The more real users I get, the better the ratio of good to bad results gets which is super encouraging.

Based on real-user data, I'm getting about 53% success rate on results from Inspired.so. I think that's a pretty good ratio at this point with few users on board. Afraid to tweak the inputs too much and lose the ones that are getting 70%+.

@indiestackHQ just crossed $3600 ARR and I couldn't be happier. Growth has been slow recently, esp. since switching to monthly pricing, but I'm playing the long game. And today I got confirmation that it's the great content that's driving subscriptions. πŸ™Œ

Just pushed the latest changes to live on inspired.so. I decided to keep it simple and not add outlines for now. If you're struggling to come up with blog post ideas for your business, try it out.

Let me know if you have any issues. DMs are open

The upside to testing inspired.so using @indiestackHQ is that I get a ton of good content ideas from the test runs.

Day 2: #buildinpublic

-> 4 people have tried inspired.so (week 1 - $0 MRR)
-> dialed in the settings for blog post outlines (see the img) πŸ‘Œ
-> app creates a (properly formatted) blog outline when you click the magic wand
Rebuilding myself a personal website. Goal is to have a hub for products and service offerings. Stuck between going totally minimal (B&W text only) or totally over the top, awesome animations, graphics the whole shebang. What do you think?

I broke my streak, starting over.
Day 1: #buildinpublic
βœ”οΈ Organized my Notion workspace for @indiestackHQ
βœ”οΈ Wrote Indiestack's 1st newsletter issue (going out on Monday)
βœ”οΈ Set up inputs vs outcomes spreadsheet to keep track of progress from both ends

@mikebarlow The #BuildInPublic tag is a pretty active one especially if you stay consistent and people get to know you through it. Recently someone gave me the advice to instead of just tweeting about yourself/your work, turn those into lessons for your followers. Engagements will go way up.
