💡moment in the pub this weekend:

Realised some fundamental changes to the data model that could reduce memory and computational complexity by n^2
E.g. make fuzzynote fast AF and usable with big data on iOS again 👀

Could be a very good week

Tough dedicating time on a subset of users that I'm not (currently) targetting, with so much other stuff to do... That said 👇

Some iOS UX improvements deployed. So many variables at play with OS*browser*input-method combos, but chipping away ⚒️

One of those days where I thoroughly dislike computers:

- rewriting tests, tedious but fruitful ✅
- apparent WASM memory issues with large datasets on iOS ❌

Latter will take some digging 🔍. Shouldn't be too impactful for the time being

So much to do!

- fix some glaring issues on iPhone
- start untangling the outdated test-suite in the core app
- continue with clueless marketing
- countless optimisations and feature implementations
- ... STUFF

If only I had a to-do app to prioritise my backlog

Last 24 hours:

- 16 people trying fzn 🎉
- ~1000 views on my landing page
- some interesting discussion on hackernews
- a couple legit twitter followers who aren't my mum and dad (welcome!! 👋)

Nice start to the week, onwards 👉

Really great to see some peeps starting to try out fuzzynote! Let's see if anything sticks.

Some interesting questions being asked on hacker news too: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=309044…

After 1+ years of solidly writing code, this week, post MVP launch of fuzzynote.xyz, I need to shift my focus entirely and put on my marketing hat. I don't like this hat, it doesn't fit properly

The upside of having single digit followers is that every new follow is a 10%(+) audience increase.

Also, 😭.

Fuzzynote has reached #MVP 🎉! #CRDT-backed, local-first, collaborative note-taking.

fuzzynote.xyz

Given many thousands of hours and part of my soul to building this. Long may it continue 🤞

Testing the collaborative component of collaborative software comes with it's challenges when you're an indie developer 🤔

The story of how I lost a morning this week working with browser storage technologies, #webassembly and #golang, and by generally being an idiot, in thread form.

Not doing great at this frequent tweeting thing. Been lost deep in a #webassembly cave.
The BE/client interface refactor went great though, making good progress building a fzn/#wasm web app. #localfirst #CRDT collab in a browser! Won't run on mobile yet tho 🤔

Right.
A few weeks off to reflect over a tricky anniversary (context: twitter.com/SamWLock/statu…)
Now:
it's time to get the fuzzynote train rolling again 🚂
First stop, a nice refactor to clean up the backend/client interface...

I did a blog! About the day we lost @kimberleystjohn. It's pretty candid and raw (and poorly written), but I found it therapeutic. I promise later instalments will be more uplifting... Part 1 of carrying Kim's torch forwards: medium.com/@samwlock/and-…
