I was running into issues finding expenses and understanding my monthly spending 🪙

So I added the ability to filter expenses by date and set a default time period for expense groups in my expense tracking app.

Have you ever thought of building your own crypto index fund?

I made a tool for that and made it open source 🏗️

I was curious if I could build a crypto fund for myself.

And it looks like I can.

Currently, 80% of the ex-stablecoin #crypto market consists of 21 #cryptocurrencies. There's few enough that makes it possible for one person to buy some in each. twitter.com/dudzik_eth/sta…

After updating my website blocking app, I got a spike in new sales 🙌 🙌 🙌

I figure it has something to do with it not being out of date, better ASO, or people trying to better themselves in the new year 😄

Probably all of the above.

I intended to update my website blocking app months ago.

It took a couple of hours, but I finally published it.

Sometimes thinking about doing something takes longer than actually doing it.

The conversion rate for my time tracking app @PunchClockApp is pretty💩

It sits at 2.6%, which I can probably improve by clearly showing the value prop. I thought of adding a video to remove the need to read the screenshot and description.

I quite like @Apple's promotion tool for apps.

It generates images for social media posts and shortens app urls. Simple but useful.

I just released my new time tracking App🥳

It helps me avoid burnout by making me aware of how much I work, reminding me to take breaks, and managing my overtime.

You might find it helpful as well. apple.co/3HVBwCe

Aaaand I got a rejection.

Nothing major, but it will probably take me another week to sort it out.

The biggest item will be to write up a terms of use.

Submitted @PunchClockApp for review🤞
I have been struggling to get the AppStore screenshots for @PunchClockApp over the finish line. But now I'm done.

If it wasn't for @FastlaneTools it would have taken me a lot longer. The tool makes it super easy to automate the process.

I just finished the onboarding flow for @PunchClockApp.

I didn’t do everything myself, though. I hired someone to create the illustrations.

Do you want to know how to work with an illustrator? Reply to this tweet with 👋 and I’ll DM how I did it.

I finished the onboarding copy but haven’t gotten to the tweet yet.

Quite bummed 😞

Since there is not much design work lined up, I stopped the UX design course to give myself more time. I'll wait until I can apply what I learn.

My goals for this week are:

- finish the onboarding copy for my remote worker time tracking app

- write a tweet on how I come up with names

- finish a week of the Coursera UX design course.

If you haven’t met @howdy_miguel yet, he is a fellow indie dev and nice!

He is building a browser extension to get your tabs under control.

Soon he will launch it and market it. Give him a follow if you want to be part of his journey. #buildinpublic
I had a great chat with @dudzik_co today.

Chatted about browser extension hurdles, building indie apps, validating assumptions about our products.

It was great having a casual chat with a fellow indie dev.

Keep it up Frederik! ✌️

I've added a shortcuts integration today to my app that tracks how much you work.

This feature allows users to build custom automation, such as starting the tracker by tapping an NFC tag.

I haven't had any luck getting the safari extension to send messages to its host application.

I've opened a code-level support ticket with Apple, which might resolve it.

I hope I made a mistake, and it isn't a bug, which would render my website blocker useless.

I just finished setting up the screens for my new website blocker app.

I tried to get the browser extension up and running, but it has been a struggle. I'll see If I can resolve the issue tomorrow.

When designing an app start with the wireframes.

Otherwise there are too many details to think about.

A couple of years ago, I built an iOS/mac app that blocks websites based on the content blocker API.

iOS 15 will support browser extensions, which provide more flexibility.

I'm building a new version to leverage that flexibility.

Twitter has an analytics tool that gives insights into the impact of your tweets. Looking at my activity, replying to other people's tweets significantly outperforms my tweets. So I'm going to do more of that. #buildinpublic
