@indiemoir @HeydaiApp Exciting!! You need to share more screenshots (I know your UI is ๐Ÿ‘Œ) and build some hype, man!

Tag #buildinpublic, share challenges and small wins. Thatโ€™s how the Pros above us do it ๐Ÿ˜‰
The problem with #buildinpublic

People get wedded publicly to their project.

Then when it doesnโ€™t work out, they just walk out on the wife and kids (the PiB community!)

Maybe time for a new Indie maker hashtag ๐Ÿง?

Idea #1: Gamified Interview Prep for Niche Technical Jobs

Problem: It is tedious to prep for highly technical jobs. Any improvement in retention can help candidates succeed.

Deadline: 20th July

This will be a running thread ๐Ÿ‘‡ #buildinpublic

Context:
I'll test ideas in a 2-week cycle inspired by @tibo_maker & @tomjacquesson

- Build 1 minimum viable test
- Market it
- Sales conv rate? 0% - abandon, <2% iterate on problem, 5%+ double down

I'll pin the idea and provide a running thread of updates here. Let the fun begin!
The part of building I hate: following all steps in technical docs but getting nowhere.

Trying to create a calendar event with Nylas. Spent 2 hours including setting up a GCP project with a maze of API settings but to no avail.

Contacting their support๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ˜ž

Another alternative with calendar availability and scheduling is CalendarHero but it is $9 per user...

Nylas seems to provide the functionality I need. While prices are not disclosed, I will take it as a coding/integration challenge and figure out economics.

#buildinpublic
Getting a user's calendar availability for 121convo is tricky.

Calendly API doesn't allow to get free/busy timeblocks directly.

Cronify ($649/mo), Nylas (pricing by quotes) ๐Ÿ‘€

I wonder if I can collect free/busy timeblocks from a Calendly event page?

#buildinpublic
This week I started to #buildinpublic 121convo.

โœ… Set up react firebase project, firestore and storage

โœ… Built sign-up/-in with own email and Google

โœ… Built dashboard where community managers can add their community info and upload a CSV of members' email addresses (1/3)
I am building a tool to help with the problem ๐Ÿ‘‡

121convo will help online community managers to automatically match and schedule one-on-one conversations between members.

In true #buildinpublic fashion I will provide updates on failures and successes along the way (link ๐Ÿ‘‡)
Justin is taking #buildinpublic to another level. I love this type of actionable advice based on facts and direct experience๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ twitter.com/justinsaas/staโ€ฆ
Online courses are money-makers.

But contrary to what you've been told, selling them isn't complicated.

THREAD: An 8-step system to more online course sales.

Connected the site to memberstack to allow members to log in but some weird stuff is happening on the links shown after login๐Ÿ™ƒ. To be continued...

Overall, there is definitly a learning curve to using Webflow to do fancy stuff๐Ÿ˜…

Day 5 of my little NoCode project. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Spent 2-3 days hitting a wall on dynamic filtering of content (it's not supported by Webflow). Settled on using JetBoost, a 3rd party plug-in. It has also real-time search - neat!

Gm!

This week, I'm building a platform where Web 3 projects (NFT, Defi, etc.) can be launched and promoted.

It will have voting and comments functionality.

First time building with WebFlow. Fingers crossed I get it done ๐Ÿ˜…

I will share progress #buildinpublic
