Launched changes to the Blotter home page based on feedback from users:
1. Clarifying the pain point & the solution
2. Addressing common objection

Check the before and after screenshots.

Wrapped up the first build of the WordPress plugin for @UseBlotter! Now you don't need to touch any code at all to get blog comments that actually work for indie hackers, founders, and makers. 🎉

Thanks to @NotechAna and @MeetKevon for hosting a great space on Building In Public!

Lots of informative details about stages of Twitter growth, what kind of Tweets work best for #buildinpublic, + book suggestions too.

If you're not already following them, better fix that 😉
Blotter now tells you which of your blog posts need conversations.

If you're looking to grow your audience, you need to know:
1. What content has resonated in the past
2. What content needs sharing

My plan for the day:

Spend hours watching the M and the V in MVP duke it out 🍿

Today: Added installation snippet for Next.js sites.

I want it to be ridiculously simple to add Blotter to any blog or site.

More integrations coming soon — oc, you can always use the standard HTML instructions which are also pretty simple.

Welp, it's day 21 of 21 days I have myself to launch my SaaS, and 7 mins to midnight.

The bad news: No launch today. There are still some bugs to fix and one flow to wrap up.

The good news: I solved a major limitation I had been running into since the beginning!

Day *13* of 21 to launch Blotter!

Snippet installation instruction page is GEFN*

Tonight + tomorrow will be focused on improving the on-blog experience:
1️⃣st for the blog author, and
2️⃣nd for commenters/readers

If your #startup uses the Twitter API, are you using:
👤 OAuth 1 or OAuth 2?
🚧 Twitter API v1 or v2?

Seems like OAuth2 has those nice granular controls, but limits you to API v2 which might be missing a few bits still.

What's your approach?

I set an audacious but attainable goal. Committed wholeheartedly. Tried to account for all the variables.

But I forgot: life throws curveballs. Last week my daughter broke her leg skiing. She's fine, thank goodness! But my plan didn't account for the dr visits 😅

Day 5️⃣/21 to launch Blotter:
They say that your #buildinpublic updates aren't always sunshine and roses, but until today I was sure that only applied to others 😅

It was one of those busy days where you end up w nothing to show.

Great reminder to focus on what *really* matters.
Day 4️⃣/21 to launch Blotter:
"Finished" rough pass at front-end! Likely not all of this functionality will make it in for 1st launch, but I'm happy considering this was 1.75 days of work + some weekend time.

What do you think of the design?

I've already fallen behind on my daily recaps for #buildinpublic! This one is for yesterday, but today will be similar.

Day 2️⃣/21
More work on front-end for app launch. Planning to share a screenshot on Monday.

Nextjs + Tailwind has me moving quite fast.
Recap Day 0️⃣ / 21
Yesterday I sketched out launch functionality and UX, based on the signals I've been hearing from folks and pain points I'm seeing in my audience.

I planned out the user flow and focused on the onboarding experience.

Plan for today 👇

Being a founder is a never-ending balancing act of resiliently sticking to your vision while constantly questioning and adjusting based on new information available to you

@ThatMattMorris @blanqio I understood my ideal customer profile that I should be targeting.

Basically, anybody who is actively using my platform for more than a year.

So, I changed landing copy first. Then, I will create additional pages to answer their questions.
Spent a few hours using Tailwind CSS to set up the landing page on my personal site. Could use more work, but no need to be perfect.

I'm digging Tailwind, still figuring out some of the edge cases.

Testing out Product Hunt Ship for Blotter (power tools for blogging+tweeting), despite some mixed reviews.

Initial thoughts: the page builder and onboarding flow have many rough edges.

I'll report back addl details in the next few days.

Have you tried PH Ship?

#buildinpublic
Experimenting with Tailwind, starting to wrap my head around it.

The top complaint I see is it's too verbose, so I combined Tailwind + CSS Modules. Been great so far!

Is anyone else using "Tailwind Modules"?

Tailwind experts: am I making a mistake doing this?

#buildinpublic
Unpopular opinion: getting hung up on the name of a project is perfectly okay. Names are powerful.

(plus every coder will tell you that one of the two hard things in Computer Science is naming things)

Just tweeted a Tweet that, a few mins later, felt not useful and off-brand for the kind of account I want to be on Twitter (ie, about building/growing).

So I deleted it. Never done that before!

Do you ever delete Tweets that feel off-topic?
