#buildinpublic transitioning from Vue to Swift wasn't all that bad. There's a state concept in SwiftUI and once I wrapped my head around it, I made progress. This is the most progress I have ever made with Xcode and Swift. A lot has changed!
#buildinpublic my small Swift app is nearly there but spending way too much time trying to get the icons right. Next up is Test Flight and find some fiction writers to beta test.
#buildinpublic update. My secret project is an app to help #fiction #authors. More details soon ๐Ÿƒ

- I learned Swift, which was point
- I need to find some beta testers... I think they will get the app for free because I'm a nice guy
- Locking down the paid features

A short #buildinpublic

- Swift learning going well, main app done
- Learning how to hook up StoreKit 2. I really miss down to earth documentation. If anything were to break me, it would probably be this... but I can probably make it through
- After that - TestFlight
#buildinpublic update

Have I learned nothing? I started a new project. Except, my goal isn't to make any kind of MRR, though if it happens then great.

I'm learning the entire Xcode/Swift pipeline from build to app store.

I'm hoping to have a TestFlight demo EOM? ๐Ÿ‘‡
So in the last couple of weeks, I experimented with a new idea. I wanted to quickly validate something that I had in my head for years (I used to be a filmmaker). The idea is called characterbook.app - here's how it went... #buildinpublic ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡
#buildinpublic ok I'm going to give this new experiment one more week - if I don't get the response that I'm looking for then I will reveal it and sunset it!

What did I learn from this? (1/4) ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡
#buildinpublic sent out more cold e-mails for this new project idea. I think people are opening it - seeing traffic. Feedback is that I have the wrong audience.

I'm going to try a different audience tonight
#buildinpublic had one positive response to this new idea. Unfortunately nothing back from the 19 other emails I sent out - but I will give it a week.

If this fails then I will likely ditch the project and call it a success!
#buildinpublic cold e-mail status update - I was slightly off with the audience, but the last 2 responses are going to help me reach out to the right people... who are very difficult to reach. Amazing!

Can I get 50 emails out the door this week?

Still haven't built it!
#buildinpublic what am I using to send cold e-mails? I'm using gmail... with the schedule feature. No sense in overthinking this... maybe by Tuesday I'll know if my new idea is worth pursuing, at which point I'll share what it is!
Intro video for sparel.app is getting a facelift. Here's the new script outline...

#buildinpublic small update for sparel.app - working on the copy for cold e-mails 2nite, the formula i'm going to test is

๐Ÿ‘‰ personalized to the individual's actual possible problem
๐Ÿ‘‰ one CTA
๐Ÿ‘‰ keep it short

That's it.

Thanks for the follows! I should probably re-introduce myself because it has been awhile. My name is Shayne and I #buildinpublic a tool to help teams run better decision-making meetings.

I also post photos of camping and pretend that I made it with CSS ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
#buildinpublic more stats on my cold emails - so far 3 sent to post-ed. Goal is simply to expand my networking to people who are building teams - I think there might be some early pain Sparel can solve. 1 positive response. Sending 2 more tonight, but feeling ambitious (1/2)๐ŸŒฑ ๐Ÿงต
#buildinpublic a clearer CTA in my announcement e-mail might have been good...๐Ÿค”
#buildinpublic sent cold e-mail to business faculty of my old school in vancouver.. this should be interesting...

going to send out more emails tonight
#buildinpublic the announcement e-mail is tailored for my "team" experiment. My hypothesis is that many teams struggle with decision-making, especially those in reactive mode.

I'm still targeting managers because maybe they want to turn the volume up on healthy collaboration
#buildinpublic ok announcement e-mail finished - scheduled for Tuesday.... but why?

Friday - nobody around to read it
Weekend - same
Monday - Canadian holiday
