We're building a dashboard called "Next.js Crowd"...

It monitors Twitter for users that mention the react framework Next.js and it shows some daily stats like "top users", "top tweets", etc

I'm about to team up with a backend developer for the hackathon.

She contacted me yesterday with a proposal...

After some consideration, I decided it would be cool to do some teamwork again.

At first, it looks effortless...

But wait until you have 1001 other sweeter things to do than be on Twitter - writing and scheduling.

It can be such a pain in the arse.

But what's more painful?

That...

Or looking at awful twitter stats?

With the new Redis OM client library for Node, it's way, way easier to work with @Redisinc.

After just a couple of hours of planning and implementing, my app has an almost ready backend.

My week pan:

- Finish and submit my hackathon project
- Write one tutorial
- Create & schedule tweeter content
- Show the hackathon project to the react & next.js communities + Hacker News
- Choose and start working on the next "traffic magnet"

Wow! It turns out that collecting "big data" with your personal laptop is quite a time-consuming effort...

#buildinpublic #bigdata
My new email collection mechanism isn't appealing because there isn't much enticing data.

So I found a dataset with over 250K next.js apps...

I will change the angle from "8 have already voted" to "Compare your scores to those of N next.js apps."

Gm, friends!

What I love most about my adventure as a startup founder is that I don't use an alarm clock.

I've just finished the app layout... it looks really beautiful.

It's maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever coded...

GM :)

An end-of-week report:

- I was active on Twitter
- Wrote & recorded one tutorial (17 min, 1188 words)
- Deployed the new mechanism
- Fixed some stuff on the site
- Entered a hackathon

I have more time, but I will spend it on the hackathon...

Life Hack:

To get rid of bugs who distract you by flying around your displays:

Switch off the lights, open the door and switch on the lights in the next room.

Wait for 5 min. Close the door. Lights On.

Then congrats yourself on outplaying them...

According to the formula of RivalIQ, my Twitter engagement rate for the past 28 days is 0.151%.

(I posted almost nothing during the first half of the period.)

The same company claims the overall median engagement rate on Twitter is 0.037%.

I'm participating in The Redis Hackathon on DEV

There's a money prize and an excellent PR opportunity because the guys behind Redis Enterprise will promote the winners on their channels.

Can't wait to show you my app...

But it's a secret for now...

It's ridiculous how much time you can waste constantly switching tabs on a small display…

To be a productive web developer, you need at least two medium to large displays. That's a law.

Wee! I have a new email collecting mechanism...

Basically, It's a poll with a twist: You vote in a super easy manner and if you want to see the results, you must subscribe...

Because I'm building a bundle of services: Blog + SaaS + Membership + eLearning Platform.

And because there is a proven growing demand.

I don't consider failure an option. If I don't meet my targets, I just need to find a better way to do it.

I’m happy I pivoted from building a desktop app to building a SaaS.Β

The unmatched level of control I have with SaaS makes it much easier and cheaper to maintain the application.Β

If my calculations are correct, I need 300 sales on average every month to match the income from my previous job.Β

#buildinpublic #startup
I’m not building just another SaaS…

Actually it’s a bundle: Blog + SaaS + Memberhip + eLearning platform

I wanted to offer something more than articles; that’s why I came up with the idea to create various β€œutility tools” you can use daily.Β
