I started playing with @bubble recently to build a quick MVP of a new project. It's my first no-code project, so there was a bit of a learning curve. But probably put 10 hours into a working MVP ready for first testers!
I've been working on 2 additional side projects while trying to find my first customers for Status Tracker and trying to come up with writing points for blogging and an info-product I'd like to make... I keep forgetting to #BuildInPublic though! I'll post some details soon.
I tried a no-code tool for the first time today. Built about 90% of an MVP over a few hours. Not bad! Hoping to find time to finish it up soon. More info to come.
I suppose that means I've officially launched it now. I'll be working on publishing announcements and launches on the various platforms in the coming days/weeks. Where should I go first? #BuildInPublic
I’ve done almost everything else wrong so far, but building in public has taught me that. Now that I know better, I’m doing things I should have done at the beginning.
I reworked the landing page for statustracker.app today. Tried to make it more clear what problem it solves and how it works. Now that I've built the MVP I replaced generic illustrations with real screenshots and mockups from the app.
I finally took some time to create a product page for Status Tracker on IH, and backfilled some of the milestones. This project has been a long time coming. Traction started once I started to #BuildInPublic
My productivity has slowed recently. So publicly setting goals for the weekend
- deploy early access of app for the fractional CTO gig - finish adding throttling for events in status tracker which are limited per plan - setup Postmark emails for status tracker #BuildInPublic
Today I had some great advice from @ayushtweetshere which really helped me push some things along I have been stalling on. After some more research I activated my Stripe account for Status Tracker. Working on setting up email service now for notifications. #BuildInPublic
Any @IndieHackers who offered early access or private beta for their SaaS, what sort of perks (if any) did you offer your early users? Lifetime discount, extended free trial, etc...? #IndieHackers#BuildInPublic
Added user notification settings today. And that wrapped up the initial functionality of Status Tracker!
Now I'm working on some of the low hanging fruit I've ignored - Contact form, server setup and config, configure emails, finalize pricing details, etc... #BuildInPublic
Worked on the customer's view of an order/job today. Mostly focused on the timeline of status updates. The color & name of statuses are customizable by our clients in the admin.
Had some debate about how to display them. What do you think?| #BuildInPublic
If you were given a timeline view of the history of status updates on your order, would you expect it to be Top -> Bottom going from beginning of history at top and latest/current at the bottom, or reverse? #BuildInPublic#IndieHackers
I've got customized themes working for the customer view of Status Tracker. Companies can provide their brand colors & logo, or use our default branding.
Thinking of adding a "powered by Status Tracker" in the footer or something like that. What do you think? #BuildInPublic
