Following a similar move by @arvidkahl a few weeks ago, I felt inspired to spend the morning doing something I have wanted to do for a while: implement Purchasing power parity so my SaaS subscriptions are more affordable in countries with lower purchasing power. #buildinpublic
The kind of result I love to see :). After redesigning my pricing page, the number of people choosing the annual plan went from less than 10% to 57% which is great because education SaaS tend to have pretty high churn rates. #buildinpublic
This is the new pricing page with both plans immediately visible side-by-side. 75% of users now choose the monthly plan and 25% choose yearly. Too early to reach statistical significance but early results are promising.
Interacting with customers is both my favourite and least favourite aspect of running a B2C business. Most people are lovely but it's incredible how rude some people can be. When this happens my policy is simple: refund and block. #buildinpublic
My favourite part of learning how to code/ building my SaaS is finding a complex (for me) problem I want to solve, having no idea how to solve it and then trying various ways of solving it til I find something that works. It's strangely addictive. #buildinpublic
After a frustratingly slow start (0 signups the first week), the French Together app is now getting an average of 2 trial signups per day with most converting to paid. All thanks to the magic of copywriting! #buildinpublic
I'm looking for inspiration for my upcoming growth/income report. Who are some creators/bloggers who publish reports/restrospectives you enjoy reading?
Thinking about restarting my blog and sharing what I’m learning launching my language learning SaaS. What is and isn’t working but also SEO experiments and A/B tests I’m running. Would that be interesting? #buildinpublic
Decided to try a new approach. #1 is the initial solution-focused headline. #2 is a problem-focused hook I'm hoping will convert better since most visitors aren't solution-aware.
Now debating whether to A/B test it or just go with #2 directly. What do you think?
One thing I didn’t expect when launching a SaaS is that it seems much harder to convince people to sign up for a free trial than to buy a 129 USD course. #buildinpublic
It's easy to feel isolated when working for yourself but don't forget that there are lots of people who would be happy to help you when you get stuck. All you need to do is ask. #buildinpublic
